Seeking a Quant Developer who will work closely
with traders and developers to mine data, identify
opportunities and ultimately enable new approaches
to trading. Successful candidates must enjoy
utilizing their extensive quantitative/statistical
analysis and software development backgrounds
in order to create trading strategies and extract
additional value from large database of proprietary
financial information.
The successful candidate will possess both
strong programming skills and strong analytical/mathematical
abilities. Typical profiles might include researchers
in mathematics, physics, or theoretical computer
science who have extensive programming experience
or software developers who have a strong history
of work in mathematics, algorithms or theory.
This person will be involved in various aspects
of building trading strategies/infrastructure
as well as focusing on quantitative projects
that require higher degrees of software design
and development work that is more math-oriented..
Responsibilities:
-Analyze historical databases in order to find
methods that optimize trading strategies.
-Implement quantitative methods to improve valuation
tools and libraries.
-Enhance back testing simulation infrastructure.
-Collaborate and communicate effectively with
team members in defining and prioritizing technical
projects.
Qualifications:
-Proficient (3-5 years minimum) in an object-oriented
programming language such as C++ or Java and
a scripting language such as Python.
-Strong background with statistical programming
languages (R/S plus) preferred.
-Exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities.
-Experience implementing machine learning techniques,
time series analysis, digital signal process,
statistics, or applied mathematics in a commercial
setting.
-Experience manipulating and maintaining large
data sets preferred.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to work in a self-directed environment,
yet able to work towards goals and deadlines.
-Ability to spend substantial time working in
corporate offices in Chicago and/or New York.
-Advanced degree in technical field preferred.
