Vice President, Information Technology
$150-$190K plus bonus
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for all aspects of the current
and future development of IT and engineering
solutions.
-Directs the translation of the business plan
into viable business models and supports the
attainment of the company’s strategic
and tactical goals through technology architecture
design, acquisition of software, management,
and implementation of an enterprise-wide technology
infrastructure.
-Maintains technology standards for the organization.
-Directs the activities necessary to keep the
technology infrastructure running seamlessly,
efficiently, and effectively while ensuring
compliance with established standards and policies.
-Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the
web-based development and technology concepts,
practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive
experience and judgment to plan and accomplish
goals.
-Leads and directs the work of the technology
department members
-Develops and maintains web and mobile apps,
content management system, internal workflow
system, data warehousing system, social media
solutions and any other required backend business
systems integration
-Insures proper documentation for all technology
developed
-Leads the team to develop and deliver in Practice
technology in a licensed form to related companies
and other partners, and provide support to licensees.
-A wide degree of creativity and latitude is
expected.
-Use Agile software development and/or current
best practices to manage all software and program
development.
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology
standards, industry trends, emerging technologies,
and software development best practices.
-Define and communicate company values and standards
for acquiring or developing systems, equipment,
or software within the company.
-Ensure that technology standards, best practices
and quality assurance are maintained across
the organization.
-Share knowledge, mentor, and educate internal
and external stakeholders with regard to the
company’s technological vision, opportunities,
and challenges.
-Ensure company technical problems are resolved
in a timely and cost-effective manner.
-Develop, track, and control the development
and deployment annual operating and capital
budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations.
-Supervise, recruit, train, retain, and organize
all development staff in accordance with the
company hiring process, personnel policies,
and budget requirements.
-Establish standards of performance and monitor
conformance for staff (through performance reviews)
and vendors (through service level agreements).
-Ensure the company’s internal technological
processes and external services comply with
community expectations and applicable laws and
regulations for privacy, security, and social
responsibility.
-Prepare and present weekly reports to the company
president and CEO
Qualifications:
-15+ years in engineering/computer science.
-5+ years in an executive-level position.
-5+ years experience managing web application
development.
-BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
or similar. An advanced degree in one these
fields, including business, is a plus.
-Demonstrated ability to envision web-based
services that meet "consumer" needs
or solve business problems.
-Hands-on experience coding in more than one
currently popular web application framework.
-Familiarity with more than one software development
methodology.
-Working knowledge of Web technologies: C#/ASP.Net,
Java, MS IIS/ Win server/ MSSQL
-Ability to discern user requirements and develop
specifications.
-Demonstrated ability to envision web-based
services that meet “consumer” needs
or solve business problems.
-Knowledge of web standards and web server configurations.
-Knowledge of Internet protocols and RFC standards,
database management systems, and revision control
systems.
-Familiarity with technical requirements of
Internet marketing and search engine optimization.
-Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities
and risk management.
-Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments
industry compliance requirements.
-Exposure to business theory, business process
development, governance processes, management,
budgeting, and administrative operations.
-Proven leadership ability.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
