Responsibilities:
-Drive infrastructure technology plans, specifications and
implementations that result in a highly available server,
workstation, storage and network infrastructure based on
simplicity, resiliency and manageability.
-Direct the development, implementation and administration
of processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability,
and optimum performance of servers, workstations, storage,
and network solutions.
-Participate in budgetary planning by assessing Company’s
requirements, outlining anticipated expenditures to support
the business needs of the company.
-Provide senior-most technical expertise in the discipline
of systems administration, implementation, operations and
hands-on support of infrastructure (hardware, software,
and OS) including but not limited to Windows and Mac workstations
and servers, Local Networks, wireless and telephony.
-Work with the operations team to enhance and maintain a
24x7 systems operations capability.
-Determine systems capacity requirements and recommend hardware
and or software configurations to meet needs.
-Work with the team to manage the processing of incoming
support requests ensuring effective and timely resolution
of issues. Coordinate with other departments to ensure problems
are satisfactorily resolved.
-Track and report progress against established milestones,
metrics, and deliverables. Anticipate and address preventable
issues that could impede progress. Adjust plans and schedules
as necessary to meet changing business requirements.
-Coordinate with external vendors to provide timely support.
-Manage physical security and environmental controls for
all IT assets including equipment and computing facilities.
Establish and maintain security program objectives and milestones.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree
-Minimum 8 years Windows/Linux Engineering and Systems Administration
experience, MS VBScript, MS SQL Administration, Backup technologies,
workstation/server engineering, mobile devices
-Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)/ Microsoft
Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) / Apple Certified
System Administrator (ACSA)
-Customer and delivery focused. Results oriented with proven
experience participating in infrastructure and engineering
teams
-Extensive experience in the installation, upgrade, configuration,
performance tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery and
security of Windows/Linux operating systems and hardware
-Solid experience with infrastructure virtualization, including
HyperV and/or VMWare
-Experience with Active Directory including site management,
replication, security, group policy, schema and domain administration
-Extensive experience in the installation, upgrade, configuration,
performance tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery and
security of storage and storage access protocols i.e. ISCSI
-Experience with remote access capabilities ie VPN, RSA
-Experience with mobile devices; Tablets, Smart Phones (iPhone,
Android, Blackberry) etc.
-Experience with Microsoft Outlook 207/2010, Exchange 2003/2007,
database and account management.
-Programming/scripting primarily in VBscript and Powershell.
-Sharp analytical abilities and proven problem solving skills;
must be a real troubleshooter who excels at spotting issues
and monitoring problems.
-Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
in an innovative and fast paced environment
-In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and strategies
related to workstation/server engineering and administration,
monitoring, storage, backup, high availability and disaster
recovery is required.
-Strong verbal and written communications skills, including
an ability to effectively communicate with both business
and technical users/teams.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-Virtualization Technology, Active Directory, SNMP based
monitoring tools, Windows OSs, MAC OS
