Systems Engineer Sr – Automation – Opsware SAS / HP SA

The key is experience with Opsware SAS/HP SA.

Scope of role:
-Dedication to providing world class customer service.
-Support the automation of OS builds utilizing HP SA formerly Opsware
-Analyze build plans and develop modules to support the various OS builds
-Develop & Maintain version control and release management.
-Detailed understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system installations, provisioning, troubleshooting and decommissioning. Emphasis on unattended remote installs.
-General understanding of other Unix based OS’s
-Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change and Task Management.
-Provide training support and documentation to ensure smooth deployment of automation builds.
-Participate in multiple projects and shifting workloads.
-Participate on projects providing technical expertise for the success of the project.
-Gather and Analyze automation requirements

Basic Function:
-To automate deployment of Managed services
-To develop automated validation / verification to ensure consistent delivery of managed services
-To understand new technologies specifically as they relate to new managed services
-Track the maturity of automation against all managed services
-Develop report metrics to support PPQ/ ST KPIs

Automation of Managed Services implementations /decommissions/audits packages:
-All versions of supported OS Management Windows version
-All versions of supported OS Management Unix (Red Hat, HPUX, AIX, Solaris)
-Install and configure monitoring and management tools via automation
-Work with project manager and other implementation teams to coordinate and troubleshoot any implementation issues. Determine feasibility of automation to correct issues.
-Ensure complete and accurate documentation.

Pre Production & Quality Support:
-Work with other team members to support customer Pre-Production process in order to understand goals and identify any opportunities for improvements via automation

Process Development:
-Help develop new processes and procedures related to implementation and decommission tasks, audits, compliance etc.

Qualifications:
-College degree BA or BS in relevant field (Computer Science, Management Information, or Business) preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
-7 + years experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, including the following:
*Active Directory
*Windows Clusters
*Network configuration such as 802.1q trunking
*IP addressing and routing
*SAN Connectivity
*Advanced scripting skills utilizing vbscript, / python / shell script / powershell / batch file scripting
-1-3 years experience with Opsware SAS/HP SA, OOO/HP OO
-Experience with installation, maintenance, and general support of Windows Server platforms
-Extensive problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to facilitate discussions to resolve technical issues with multiple teams.
-Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, managed services provider, or web hosting business.
-Understanding of Service Release Management
-Excellent written and verbal skills
-Ability to effectively deal with change.
-Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple demands at once.
-Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

-Experience with the following:
*RedHat Linux, SunOS, AIX, or HP-UX operating systems

*TSM / Net Backup Software
*Microsoft Exchange
*Microsoft SQL
-Experience developing, documenting and automating ITIL V3 Certification.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-MCSE
-Package creation
