Software Quality Assurance Analyst - OMS

Great Neck, NY

Analyst will be working on OMS product and will require prior industry experience, particularly testing sell-side OMS trading applications. It would preferable that this candidate has prior experience with ACT, OATS, FIX protocol.

Responsibilities:
-Ensuring functionality of company’s financial software by verifying that programs function according to specifications and standards, developing software test plans, procedures and validation summary reports.
-Identifying, documenting and following through to resolution, software defects identified during all testing phases.
-Execute established test plans
-Accurately record and clearly document all actual results compared to expected results.
-Maintain well organized record of test results and generate historical analysis of test results.
-Fully document any unexpected anomalies identified in testing with instruction of how to recreate the anomaly.
-Assist in the development and refinement of product and software requirements to insure their functionality.
-Develop and document product requirements as part of Product Development Team
-Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
-Write test scripts and test cases to meet assigned requirements
-Communicate with developers, product managers, usability engineers and technical support specialists on product issues
-Work with Customer Support group to help perform root cause analysis of issues found in the production environment
-Work with Development team to ensure that the product is fully tested
-Ensure complete documentation is available for all enhancements, bug fixes, and new products
-Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process
-Verifies product user manuals, on-line documentation and help systems for correctness.
-Configuring test environments for testing, prepare production turnover procedures and coordinating FIX connections.

Qualifications
-Analyst will be working on OMS product and will require prior industry experience, particularly testing sell-side OMS trading applications. It would preferable that this candidate has prior experience with ACT, OATS, FIX protocol.
-Securities and Trading industry experience: Deep FIX messaging protocol and the ability to conduct client testing.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, equivalent industry experience acceptable
-Experience in UNIX and Linux environment a must with some scripting knowledge such as SHELL or Perl
-Well organized work habits with attention to detail
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-One to two years work experience in software quality assurance preferable.
-Motivation and self-determination to learn and grow
-Test Case Design, Planning and Implementation with a concentration in FIX
-Knowledge of C and Object Oriented design methodologies would be a plus
