Sr Software Engineer - Web Platform
Looking for sharp, experienced software engineer
with a creative edge, strong problem-solving
skills, a solid software development foundation
and the desire to be an individual contributor
to Company’s next generation technology.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for system architecture and development
for new initiatives and feature development
-Work with business teams to understand customer
issues, and investigate, prototype and deliver
new and innovative solutions
-Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver
high quality software against aggressive schedules
-Establish architectural principles, select
design patterns and then mentor team members
on their appropriate application
-As a leader, influence the technology roadmap
and innovation function/program; help drive
roadmaps of technologies from current state
to future state
-Lead the analysis/stay abreast of technology
industry, market trends in the field of software
architecture and development
-Apply high judgment in driving platform/architecture
development to insure scalability whilst meeting
high customer experience and business goals
-Influence and mentor software engineers both
within the team as well as across other teams
in technology group
-Be a part of the software development community,
and strive constantly to improve and establish
a new level of excellence in software development.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Computer Science
or related field.
-8+ years of industry experience with a solid
experience in build scalable infrastructure
software or distributed systems based on SOA,
ideally in an ecommerce environment.
-Excellent object oriented analysis and design
skills
-Mastery of tools of the trade including any
of the modern programming languages (Java, C/C++
etc.); Java experience is preferred in developing
and operating 5-8 years of successful production
software systems
-A solid grounding on CS fundamentals (based
on a BS or MS in Computer Science / related
field)
-Deep specialized domain knowledge in building
and architecting marketplaces (programming techniques,
algorithms, design patterns, etc.)
-Expert knowledge in performance, scalability,
enterprise system architecture and engineering
best practices
-Able to exert technical influence over one
or more teams, increasing their productivity
and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge
and experience
-Well versed in designing and architecting systems
with testability in mind (continuous integration,
unit/integration tests, mocking frameworks,
etc.)
-Be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- where change is the only constant
-Be a team player with high energy
-Excellence in technical communication with
technical and non-technical cohorts
-Strong analytical skills and an out of the
box thinker
-Results oriented and with a strong customer
focus
-Self motivated and displays accountability
and sense of ownership
