Lead efforts to improve existing services for
hosting solutions, including server and application
services products and be a resource for sales
support. Build products from existing ideas,
and help to develop new ideas based on your
industry experience and your contact with customers
and prospects. You must possess a unique blend
of business and technical savvy; a big-picture
vision, and the drive to make that vision a
reality. Spend time in the market to understand
their problems, and find innovative solutions
for the broader market.
Must be able to communicate with all areas
of the company. Work with an engineering counterpart
to define product release requirements. Work
with marketing communications to define the
go-to-market strategy, helping them understand
the product positioning, key benefits, and target
customer. Serve as the internal and external
evangelist for your product offering, occasionally
working with the sales channel and key customers.
Responsibilities:
-Specify market requirements for current and
future products by conducting market research
supported by on-going visits to customers and
non-customers
-Lead efforts to improve revenue and profits
or reduce costs associated products, and develop
product forecasts, pricing, and operational
models
-Track and maintain performance metrics for
new product and service launches
-Managing the product line life cycle from strategic
planning to tactical activities for Managed
Services, partnering with Engineering for infrastructure
augmentation and capacity management
-Driving a solution set across development teams
(primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing
Communications) through market requirements,
product contract, and positioning
-Work with Product Marketing to maintain and
provide content for product related collateral
and sales tools
-Participate in various Sales Support activities,
including: product and services training, seminars
and documentation, and pre and post sales customer
visits
-Analyzing potential partner relationships for
the product gaps
-Develop and maintain channel, delivery, and
technology partner relationships
-Approximately 25% Travel Required
Qualifications:
-College Degree preferred.
-5 to 10 years experience in product development
and lifecycle maintenance, sales support, or
technical services role
-Track record in hosting, data center outsourcing,
ASP, hardware/software or similar technical
industry
-Understanding of product differentiation and
competitive strategy techniques
-Possess the ability to work with customers
and vendors at both a business & technical
level
-Extensive knowledge of solution engineering
and design techniques as well as enterprise
in Testing Services
-Excellent aptitude for financial information
and analysis
-Strong project management, time management,
and organizational skills to effectively supervise
projects to completion
-Experience in relative product capability (e.g,
Networking, Virtualization)
-High-level technical knowledge and experience
with enterprise monitoring and management products
and architecture
-Strong speaking and presentation skills
-Verbal & written communications skills
-Ability to effectively work in a team environment
as well as independently
