Data Vendor Manager
Responsibilities:
-Work as an integral part of a trading firm
team to redefine how data is delivered to researchers.
-Provide expertise in the areas of data sourcing,
contract negotiations, the management of data
risks, and vendor supply chain management.
-Strengthen the breadth, depth, and quality
of both quantitative data and qualitative information
available to Research, improving governance
and oversight of the supply chain, reducing
the external risks associated with reliance
on external sources of data, and improving transparency
and operational discipline in the processes
surrounding their responsibilities.
-Work with technology team to design applicable
technology solutions required to effect excellent
Vendor management, such as contract databases,
data usage reporting to comply with 3rd party,
reporting requirements, approval systems, etc.
-Create annual data sourcing budgets, and manage
those budgets by creating any applicable reporting
necessary to improve transparency into budget
status.
-Deploy (with the Research Technology Team)
standard Data Vendor Management tools
-Deploy & maintain standard RFI / RFP evaluation
methodologies
-Define standard Service Level Agreements and
work with vendors to deploy
-Data sourcing budget adherence & transparency
-Provide excellent Vendor Management service
to our customers within Research
Qualifications:
-5+ years in the management of a Data sourcing
function
-Specialization in Non Real Time Data
-Specialization in Pricing, Reference Data,
Market Data, & Macroeconomic Data
-Financial sector only - Sell-side, Buy-side,
or Vendor
-Domain expertise in:
*Supply chain management
*Contract negotiations & commercial terms
*3rd party rights / limitations
-Highly intelligent, driven individual with
an unusual amount of common sense and logic
-Comfort with giving and receiving criticism,
and taking change of the tasks at hand
