System Administrator
Responsibilities:
-Implement new systems and storage technologies.
-Work with other groups to identify and resolve
performance issues.
-Implement new methods to improve system and
application performance.
-Monitor system/infrastructure performance and
work to prevent potential problems.
-Evaluate and implement software and OS upgrades
on infrastructure systems.
-Collect, analyze, and present meaningful system
metrics.
-Design, implement, and maintain data backup
and redundancy.
-Create and maintain tools to manage and maintain
300+ systems.
Required Experience:
-Microsoft Windows 2003 or better, Active Directory,
DHCP/DNS (2008 experience & MCSE preferred)
-Server Virtualization (VmWare, VCP 3 or 4 certification
preferred)
-Scripting ability (i.e. PowerShell or VBScript)
-Microsoft Exchange 2007 and/or 2010 in a multi-server
multi-site organization utilizing data replication
-E-mail filtering (spam, anti-virus), web traffic
filtering and blocking
-Network Monitoring/Alerting software, Microsoft
System Center Operations Manager preferred
-NAS and SAN Storage (NetApp preferred), data
backup and replication
-Desktop Imaging, Microsoft System Center Configuration
Manager preferred
-LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python)
-Experience in any of the following areas in
order of importance (candidates with most breadth
will be preferred): Electronic Trading or Financial
Industry experience, Blade PC or Desktop Virtualization
Technologies, Basic Switching knowledge (a CCNA
will differentiate the candidate), Compliance
Archiving of E-mail, Instant Messages and files,
Multi-site, geographically dispersed networks,
Consolidated Logging technologies, VOIP (Cisco
Preferred), IM and Video Conferencing, SQL Server
administration, IIS, Macintosh, Linux Desktop,
CentOS preferred
