Job Description:
Responsibilities : HOURS: WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY.
-Dedication to providing world class customer
service.
-Participate in the process of providing Tape
Backup solutions for customers utilizing extensive
knowledge base (TSM Server implementations,
decommissions, and troubleshooting)
-Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve product
and services problems in the data centers and
on customer’s hosts.
-Work with data center staff to perform tape
rotation as needed by individual customers.
-Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change
and Task Management.
-Document all procedures and work instructions.
-Provide immediate escalation of critical client
problems that may become serious service delivery
issues or may be reported to executive management.
-Assist with product and process knowledge training
to provide balanced centralized team support.
-Manage multiple issues and shifting workloads.
Qualifications :
-College Degree preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
-BS in Computer Science, equivalent Technical
School training or equivalent work experience
that includes appropriate training courses.
-Two years experience as a Windows or Unix systems
administrator.
-One year experience with an enterprise class
backup suite (I.E. Veritas Backup Exec or Tivoli
Storage Manager)
-Must possess strong interpersonal skills in
order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
-Experience with tape library storage solutions.
-IBM Tivoli TSM experience desirable.
-General UNIX and Windows systems administration
Understanding of HP/UNIX, Solaris, Windows,
Linux, and TCP/IP.
-Understanding of data center infrastructure
technologies.
-Understanding of midrange and storage technologies.
-Understanding of network technologies.
-Understanding of SQL server administration.
-Understanding of MS Exchange server administration
-Working knowledge of EMC H/W and S/W.
-Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate
possible changes in business strategies.
-Know basic IP security structures regarding
disk and tape storage.
-Team player, can lead or follow as necessary.
-Ability to participate in after hours and weekend
support.
