Software Lead – C++ - .Net – Options
trading industry

$400-$800K total compensation (base + bonus)
Looking for a hands-on technical leader with
exceptional software engineering, design, and
development skills to drive trading technology,
direction, architecture and vision. You will
lead all aspects of software development and
have an integral role in the company's strategic
direction and future growth.
Responsibilities:
-You will be the senior technologist. You must
be a software expert who drives superior architecture
to create systems that will distinguish the
business today and in the future. You will work
closely with senior trading managers to determine
when and where to invest in technology.
-Be passionate about being immersed in technology
on a daily basis. Be firmly rooted in the “bits
and bytes” of the design of all software
systems:
*Lead all software engineering activities.
*Lead systems design and architecture.
*Drive ongoing software R & D efforts.
-Consistently align technical product architecture
with business priorities.
-Demonstrate the ability to interpret both technology
and trading market trends as a foundation for
technology architecture and product roadmaps.
-Be an innovator who uses technology to enhance
product offerings to internal and external customers
as appropriate.
-Leverage major industry and technology changes
to ensure leadership in the competitive landscape.
-Consistently develop strategies to increase
company revenue.
Qualifications:
-A proven technical leader with at least 15
years of experience in software engineering,
with at least 7 years of options trading industry
experience.
-Must be a programming expert, with strong experience
in building multi-threaded, asynchronous software
systems using C++, .net, or Java toolsets.
-Must have specific experience in building real-time
trading tool sets to be used in market-making,
market-taking, and high-frequency equity trading
applications.
-Maintain a strong, consistent dialogue between
the CIO, various heads of trading, and development
leadership.
-Strong operating knowledge of FIX, FAST protocols
and various industry messaging toolsets (Wombat,
29 West, MSMQ).
-Strong understanding of Linux and UNIX operating
systems.
-Strong, operational understanding of the various
commercially available software systems used
in trading industry. (I.E. ORC, Trading Technologies,
Pro Opticus).
-Functional knowledge of various relational
databases: Sybase, Oracle, MySQL.
-Entrepreneurial spirit: take measurable risks,
enable innovation, pro-actively face and influence
change.
-Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
-High energy and passion for developing great
engineers and products.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer
Science required.
