.Dedication to providing world class customer
service.
.Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve product
and services problems in the data centers and
on customer’s hosts.
.Monitor daily health of the Managed Systems
Services server environment.
.Develop and maintain departmental processes
and documentation.
.Perform operating system installations, provisioning,
troubleshooting and decommissioning.
.Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change
and Task Management.
.Provide sales support as directed.
.Provide immediate escalation of critical client
problems that may become serious service delivery
issues or may be reported to executive management.
.Work with the Engineering group to help develop
and test new technology and solutions.
.Participate in multiple projects and shifting
workloads.
.Participate on projects providing technical
expertise for the success of the project.
Utilize the change review process and tools
as required by each project task.
.Attend Design Review meetings to analyze prospective
client system design.
.Provide post-implementation support.
.Train/mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
Qualifications :
.College Degree preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
.Preferred BS in Computer Science, equivalent
Technical School training or equivalent work
experience that includes appropriate training
courses.
.Seven to Ten years industry experience in a
systems operations management or systems engineering
role.
Experience with:
.4 - 8 years experience with AIX operating systems
in a production environment.
.1 or more years’ experience with the
following operating systems in a production
environment: Solaris, RH Linux, HP-UX
.Some Windows administration experience is desired.
.Strong Scripting skills required. Must be able
to create scaleable management solutions for
an Enterprise level hosting service (1000+ hosts
under management).
.Sound understanding of hardware fundamentals.
Able to make specific hardware recommendations
based on I/O bound, memory bound, or processor
bound applications.
.Able to troubleshoot and provide resolution
for servers with performance issues.
.Extensive problem-solving skills for debugging
OS, application, and server related network
issues.
.Enterprise level storage (Array/SAN) and tape
backup platforms.
