Senior Network Engineer
$90-$100K plus bonus
Responsibilities:
-Act as a key individual on the team supporting
Exchange and Cisco LAN/WAN environment.
-Support and troubleshoot Storage area network
technology and network connections surrounding
the SAN.
-Act as a technical lead in the recovery of
network and operating systems services in the
event of a disaster or an emergency.
-Where deemed necessary by the management function,
work extended hours and provide coverage for
weekends and holidays as needed.
-Monitor performance statistics about network
traffic and usage so that networks are available
to meet business needs.
-Perform troubleshooting services to isolate,
diagnose, and fix problems dealing with shared
services and connected equipment.
-Notify the Senior Management Group of all intrusions,
violations, or other suspected information security
problems.
-Monitor development trends in the IT arena
and make suggestions for the improvement of
operating systems and network environments pertaining
to reliability.
-Provide hands-on technical services to the
Applications team related to Infrastructure
issues affecting their application environment.
-Evaluate information system bug reports, security
exploit reports, and other information security
notices issued by information system vendors,
government agencies, professional associations,
and other organizations, and as needed, makes
recommendations to internal management and technical
staff to take precautionary steps.
-Act as the primary technical support liaison
in charge of distributing and loading updates
to anti-virus systems, patches to systems, and
logon scripts to employees.
-Provide Technical leadership and guidance to
other IT support teams.
-Follow approved change control procedures to
ensure the appropriate changes are completed
on a live environment.
-Responsible for validating infrastructure test
environments and communicating the results to
the management function prior to live deployment.
Mandatory Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in related technical
field or equivalent experience
-CCNA qualification or higher. Preferably CCNP/CCIE.
-5-10 years work experience as a Network Engineer
or Senior Technical lead
-Minimum 4-6 years working experience with WAN/LAN.
-Ability to demonstrate technical expertise
on large scale IT infrastructure projects
-Familiarity with routing protocols.
-Knowledge of Cisco ASA, PIX,IPS, Checkpoint
firewalls.
-Knowledge of ipsec VPN configuration, SSL VPN
solutions.
-Knowledge of MPLS configuration.
-Excellent knowledge of Cisco LAN switches 6500,
3750, 2960.
-Working well with the infrastructure team on
vmware routing, SAN routing, mail routing, etc.
-Self-starter and ability to organize the workday
around assigned activities and prioritize with
minimum supervision
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-5 years experience architecting, implementing
and troubleshooting Exchange v.2007/2010 in
a production corporate environment
-Nexus experience a plus.
-Experience working with application load balancers
a plus.
-Level 2-3 working knowledge of configuring,
operating, and troubleshooting Cisco WAN/LAN
equipment
-Experience working with Checkpoint firewalls
and Riverbed Wan acceleration or similar technology
products
-Avaya Telecommunications and VOIP troubleshooting
-3 years working with SAN technology preferably
Netapp
-Experience operating servers in a VSphere 4.0
production IT infrastructure
-Working knowledge of HA strategies (RAID, clustering,
Data replication)
-IBM enterprise Servers and Blade technology
-Implementation of Windows Active Directory
and components that make up AD
-Group policy creation and management
-Citrix Xenapp Implementation and troubleshooting
would be an asset
-Sun Solaris, Linux 1st level troubleshooting
-Microsoft SQL Server 1st level troubleshooting
-Experience working with blackberry handhelds
and Blackberry Enterprise Server’s
-Scriptlogic or VB scripting skills would be
an asset
-MCSA and MCSE certification
-Excellent verbal and written skills
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
