Responsibilities:
-Manage a team of System Engineers and Network
Engineers who work on the enterprise service
team. This includes setting priorities, ensuring
processes are documented and followed, and monitoring
the capacity of the enterprise implementation
engineers.
-Develop implementation engineering goals and
success criteria with the overall goals of the
Team in mind.
-Perform resource allocation of regional implementation
engineers in addition to brokering assignments
of those outside the team when necessary.
-Ensure that implementation engineering works
effectively and efficiently so that customer
implementations are completed on time, on budget,
and with a high degree of quality.
-Utilize standard project management processes,
tools, and methodology and be a key contributor
to the maintenance of standard processes, and
standard project templates, tools and standard
project management methodology for projects
as it relates to Implementation Engineering’s
role within Enterprise Service Transition.
-Work with Service Introduction and Support
for new product and service releases, to ensure
implementation engineers are adequately trained
on the new offerings.
-Provide an escalation point to your team members
to assist in problem resolution.
-Coordinate additional support as necessary
for sales opportunities.
-Travel required as needed.
Qualifications:
-College Degree preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
-7-10 years industry experience in an engineer
role, with exposure to multiple technology areas.
A significant amount of this time must have
been in a hands-on IT service delivery role.
-3-5 years management experience in a technical
manager role, managing both junior and senior
level engineers.
-Experience should include data center hosting,
security, systems, LAN/WAN, and tape/storage
administration.
-Must be self-starter, flexible, and have customer
interface & relationship-building skills.
-Very strong customer service and communication
skills (written and oral) are required.
-A history of leading and directing technical
staff through crisis situations.
-Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
-Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
-Working knowledge of project management, organization,
and strong time management skills are required.
-Must have the ability to effectively work in
a team environment, as well as independently,
or as a self starter.
-Technology industry certification(s) (MCSE,
CCIE, RHCE, etc.).
-Expert Knowledge of ITIL v3 a plus
-Ability to meet the physical demands of this
