Responsibilities:
-Effectively interact with various teams within the firm: Linux Administrators, Trade Desk Support, Application Developers, Traders, Clearing Team, etc.
-Create detailed database design specifications.
-Develop stored procedures, triggers, scripts to provide the database support for multiple application development teams.
-Perform database tuning and performance optimization.
-Install, maintain/support and tune Sybase ASE 15 instances.
-Analyze database performance and efficiency and recommend changes to optimize performance.
-Plan future database capacity requirements.
-Monitor usage and performance of databases and identify/resolve problems or potential problems.
-Plan, develop, test and execute: DB backup & recovery, data changes, schema changes, DB housekeeping, scripts, user account & access, replication, software upgrades, system recovery.
-Gather business requirements and apply them into logical and physical database models.

Mandatory Qualifications:
-Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
-5 years of writing SQL skills on a Sybase environment.
-5 years of Sybase administration skills on UNIX/Linux.
