Senior / Sr Storage Administrator

Must have large enterprise experience with EMC, NAS, SAN.
Engineer and manage the current EMC-based Storage Environment
(EMC SAN, NAS, and CAS). You will also work closely with
administrators and engineers on UNIX, Windows and Database
platforms in the configuration and maintenance of SAN connectivity,
storage and backups. The position requires in-depth product
knowledge of vendors that are strategic partners in the
implementation and maintenance of the storage environment.
Vendors include: EMC (Symmertix, VMax, Isilon, Clariion,
Celerra, ECC), RamSan and Kove, Cisco, Veritas NetBackup,
Arkivio (Arkivio Policy Engine), Legato (DiskExtender).
You will be hands-on with vendor-specific tools used to
manage the SAN such as ECC, Navisphere, Symcli commands,
and Connectrix Manager for EMC.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation (conceptually
and hands-on) in SAN and NAS design, SAN zoning, LUN masking,
fibrechannel protocol, iSCSI, NAS gateways, NFS over fibrechannel,
and FCOE.
Responsibility for projects to include detailed project
planning and management of the project plan. Manage vendor
relationships, overall technical architecture and conformance
to the current and future business requirements.
The candidate's experience and background with solid systems
administration processes and procedures for both UNIX and
Windows environments are very important in selecting someone
to fill this position.
The environment is based on RedHat Enterprise Linux Advanced
Server and is used to support the operations of a global,
24x7 financial enterprise. Responsible for 500 servers,
within an environment of 2500, globally.
Function as a subject matter expert. Act as an advocate
for and prepare proposal and presentations relative to storage
environment design, redesign and enhancements.
Qualifications:
-Proficiency in RedHat Linux AS and Solaris 8+.
-Extensive experience with Veritas.
-Detailed understanding of IP and Ethernet networking concepts
and how they are implemented and operate in a Linux environment.
-Experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting
network-related issues in a Linux environment.
-Skilled with Linux performance measuring and tuning tools
like top, ntop, sa, psacct and oprofile, as well as commercial
systems, such as HP OpenView.
-Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule and an on-call
environment.
-Shell/Perl scripting.
-CIFS, NFS and UNIX and Windows security.
-Experience in the financial industry, preferably a trading
environment.
-Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
-Team player with ability to work independently.
-Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or related engineering
or science curriculum
