Job Description:
Project Manager for New Business
Work closely with technical leads to ensure
the effective support and delivery of technical
services and business roll outs.
Requirements:
• University Degree in a technical or
information management discipline strongly preferred;
other post-secondary education considered with
relevant experience
• 3-5 years service/project management
experience within IT, and significant experience
aligning IT with business objectives
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, security
protocols, secure communication options, videoconferencing
technology and HTML options for communication
• Proficiency with networking/software/hardware
and telecommunications technologies
• Strong communications skills; oral and
written
• Demonstrated negotiation and presentation
skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical
skills
• Proven ability to translate complex
data into meaningful and useful information
based on the needs of a particular stakeholder
group or end-user
• Able to coordinate and direct diversely
skilled and geographically disperse technical
staff
• Advanced working knowledge of personal
computer software packages (e.g., Microsoft
Office for Windows), as well as demonstrated
understanding of operating systems, relational
database design and operation, query tools,
reporting tools, and decision support tools
Responsibilities:
Administrative/Management
• Monitor, coordinate and co-direct the
activities of field service staff
• Ensure facilities (telco lines, laptops,
desktops, etc.) are all dispatched in sequence
based on the project plan meeting business needs
• Prepare and deliver presentations and
participate in meetings with clients, vendors
and other stakeholders
Communication, Technology, and Application
Infrastructure
• Overall people and process responsibility
for the efficient and effective day-to-day management
of new projects
• Ensure equipment is serviced and customers
are trained
• Ensure continuous quality improvement
and capacity management
• Ensure teams are supporting infrastructure
security
• Collaborate with other technical managers
to anticipate, promote, plan and direct the
implementation of infrastructure upgrades
Information Management
• Anticipate, plan, and oversee the technical
and operational infrastructure that supports
reporting framework that supports stakeholders’
needs
• Responsible for developing and implementing
activity reporting standards including;
- Regular field activity reporting
- ITIL/ITSM Incident, Problem, Error Management
processes
- Responding to ad hoc inquiries
