Product Manager - Electronic Trading (Chicago,
IL):
$85-$90K
Be responsible for providing vision, planning,
and release management for both new and existing
products; someone technical with the ability
to act as a liaison between customers and internal
development resources. This is the ideal position
for a Senior Level Developer or Architect looking
to move over to the product management side
or for an existing Product Manager/Business
Analyst with an extensive understanding of the
markets move to a dynamic team with the opportunity
to manage multiple new products.
Responsibilities:
-Define product vision.
-Manage the entire product lifecycle from inception
to product release and delivery.
-Produce market roll-out plans and timings for
products.
-Analysis of market conditions, competition,
and product strengths/weaknesses to create product
strategy. Business case analysis to justify
product strategy and roadmap.
-Gather and prioritize customer requirements.
-Create business requirements and use cases
that can be leveraged to develop and test software
products.
-High-level design of software architecture.
-Work hand-in-hand with development and QA Managers
to ensure product is implemented according to
business use cases.
-Present/Demonstrate products to customers to
solicit feedback and/or generate sales.
-Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage
products.
-Work with sales, marketing and support to ensure
revenue and customer satisfaction goals are
met.
-Ensure that product and marketing efforts support
the company's overall strategy and goals.
Qualifications:
-Must have a comprehensive understanding of
electronic trading on US and European futures,
options, and equities Exchanges/ECNS.
-Must have a thorough understanding of Order
Entry and Market Data APIs.
-Expert in the FIX Protocol for pre trade (quoting,
IOI, market data), trade (basic and complex
order types), and post trade (trade reporting,
allocation) messaging.
-Must be extremely well versed in the following
technologies/products.
-Object Oriented Programming Languages (preferred
Java). Must have a high level understanding
and be able to explain concepts and designs.
-Advanced/expert user of MS Project, Excel,
Word, and Visio Preferred.
-Experience with SQL-based databases (Oracle,
SQL Server, and MySQL).
-Comfortable working in Linux/Solaris/UNIX environment.
-Prior experience as business analyst or product
manager preferred but not required.
-Exceptional written and verbal communication
skills.
-Customer-focused mindset.
-10% Travel
