Job Description:



Pay Rate: $65,000 - $80,000 / year

Responsibilities : SHIFT: SUN-TUES; alt WED: 7am-7pm

• Support IOC Monitoring team on triaging alarms on both network and systems.
• Provide IOC Networking team with layer 1 and 2 support on various networking devices.
• Support of the Global Network, which consist of Layer1, 2 and 3 network components.
• Coordinate with Network Service Providers to resolve outages and initial activation.
• Provision network resources for internal/external Customers to fulfill their communication needs via network management tools, and systems.
• Escalate problems to the internal Network Engineering organization and external vendors as required.
• Technical assistance to all internal/external Customers during circuit outages.
• Perform configuration changes in response to Client issues.
• Assemble and update documentation in the form of problem and change management tickets.
• Maintain technical expertise and required industry certifications and stay current with new and emerging Layer1 technologies.
• Have a base familiarity with Client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external Customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.
• Assist in implementing internal/external Customer’s disaster recovery networks, with varying organizations.
• Make recommendations on Alarm auto-processing.

Qualifications :
· College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
• Two to three years experience in a Network Control/Management Center or Central Office environment. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, DS3, DS1/Frac-DS1 and frame relay/IP networks.
• Strong network troubleshooting skills are required.
• Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (DS1, DS3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM’s, fiber optics.
• Basic knowledge of router’s, and switches is desirable.
• Working knowledge of network Transaction Language (TL1) is required.
• Strong Customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required.
• Experience with a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment.
• Technical knowledge & experience with various network protocols are required.
• Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.
• Knowledge & experience with PC LAN protocols and connectivity.
• Ability to interact and influence change within the team that you’re working in.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
• Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required.
• Strong time management and organizational skill are required.
• Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Be able to multi-task.
• Possess Customer Call Center processing skills and Customer Service skills
• Shift work is required. Proven leadership skills in a fast paced work environment is required.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities is required.
