Market Data Operations Analyst

This group is in charge of collecting, cleaning, saving, and delivering data spanning all asset classes and regions. This includes security identifiers (e.g. symbol, CUSIP), contract information (e.g. tick size, handle value), end of day data (e.g. closing price, volume) and analytics (e.g. beta/correlations, greeks). Data is sourced directly from exchanges and third party vendors, leveraging the information to support existing trades, support the development of new trades, and to recognize changes in the liquidity landscape. Obtaining worldwide market data is essential to making informed decisions regarding market health and maturity and precisely time entrance into global markets.

Responsibilities:
-Develop intuition around data validity and the data needs for various parts of the organization.
-Perform market data studies/requirements gathering.
-Communicate with traders, quants and clearing personnel in order to gather requirements around specific financial data requests/needs.
-Manually discover critical areas around which to automate the flow of data and explain to users the value of specific automation.
-Develop and operate ongoing data validations.

Qualifications:
-A background in Finance with an interest and curiosity around utilizing technology to automate process around the delivery of high quality financial data.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills.
-Understanding of basic statistics/mathematics.
-Interest in technology and automation.
-Data driven/detail oriented.
-European market exposure is a big plus.
-Familiarity with market data vendors (e.g. Bloomberg, SIX Telekurs, etc.).
-Explicit interest and solid understanding of financial products.
-Familiarity with SQL, Excel and/or other tools to provide data efficiently to users.
-Understand how data flows throughout a financial organization to provide efficient assessment and extraction (of data).
-B.S. in Finance (any type of technical minor a huge plus).
-Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
