Manager, Trading Systems Operations

Front line manager needed to lead a team of
6+ that provides all centralized operations
support for electronic trading.
Responsibilities:
The operations team manager is responsible
for managing a team that covers three primary
functions:
-Provides 1st level support for all firm wide
trading systems – triage of problems,
restoration of service, escalation to engineering,
etc.: Work to put measures in place to proactively
detect and remediate problems; Ensure there
is a high-level of visibility to the production
problems both real-time during incidents as
well as from a tracking/trending perspective;
Conduct post-mortem reviews around incidents
to facilitate continuous improvement; Coordination
of efforts with support/operations at each trade
desk.
-Change and release management of the production
trading environment: Own and drive the change
control process – ensure that it is designed
to manage risk and balance against the rewards
of any change; Ensure that changes are not only
managed but are highly visible; Work across
development, quality, and other technology teams
to ensure that appropriate standards are defined
for production environments, and that teams
adhere to the standards.
-Works with development teams to ensure that
the needs of the operations team are being met
from a system infrastructure perspective.
-Ensures sound tools for basic operational processes
are in place – change and release management,
outage tracking, system monitoring, job/process
scheduling, configuration management and recovery,
etc.
-Makes sure that the tools in place are appropriately
used and leveraged to their full potential.
-Mentoring, coaching and developing team members.
-Managing performance and compensation.
-Staffing open positions.
Qualifications:
-Strong experience leading a team of trade support
in a low latency environment
-Experience with electronic trading systems
-Experience with change and release management,
outage tracking, job/process scheduling
