An Electronic Market Making team is looking
for a developer with experience in Java-based
trading applications. This group is responsible
for the development of an electronic option
market making system, enabling traders to send
quotes and orders on a variety of asset classes
to several exchanges. The user interface is
developed in C# and deployed on Windows. The
servers are developed in Java and deployed on
Linux.
Responsibilities:
-Design and develop server-based components
and frameworks, including both technical services
and trading logic.
-Interface with developers on other teams including
market data, option pricing and exchange access.
-Develop requirements, propose solutions and
deliver software into production environment
in a timely and robust manner.
-Participate in design and code reviews.
-Partner with QA and support teams to ensure
that the software delivered is high quality
and easy to manage in a production environment.
-Ongoing performance analysis and tuning.
-Keep up to date on the latest technologies
that could benefit the system.
Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience, 2+ years of experience
in electronic trading.
-Expert skills in Java technologies including
Java SE version 6, preferably in a Linux environment.
-Experience with a Java IDE (IntelliJ preferred).
-Experience with multi-threaded programming,
and distributed application architectures.
-Experience with subversion required, experience
with GIT and Maven are both a plus.
-Web-based development experience, along with
any Java UI development experience, is also
a plus.
-Strong analytic and design capabilities, ability
to decompose a problem into simpler parts.
-Demonstrated preference for simple, cohesive,
and practical solutions.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-B.S. in Computer Science or related engineering
field.
