Looking for Programmers who are highly entrepreneurial,
want to have complete responsibility for your work, and
want to see the work you do make a tangible difference immediately.
Position is located in Bucktown neighborhood, not downtown.
Responsibilities:
Write source code. Applications will be viewed by hundreds
of end users daily. They will be used to affect the decision
making of Fortune 500 corporations, and they will be featured
at national trade shows and in relevant publications. Power
the development of these applications, reporting directly
to the Chief Technology Officer of firm.
Envision, design and develop Web applications and key UI
modules.
Apply good software design and development practices in
daily activities.
Write comprehensive technical specifications and support
documentation.
Qualifications:
-Must have an ability to rapidly prototype web and enterprise
applications to showcase new ideas.
-Strong work experience with Java and SQL is important
-Expertise in one or more of these areas: Java, J2EE, Portals
and Portlets, Web Services, .Net.
-Experience building web applications using JSP, HTML, DHTML,
CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, XPath and XSLT.
-Strong in web design methodologies and frameworks, such
as Java Server Faces (JSF).
-Experience with Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex 2, ActionScript,
Perl, PHP, REST, JSON and JavaScript toolkits such as Dojo
and Prototype.
-Networking, security, and database experience with MySQL,
PostGreSQL, or other relational databases.
-Ability to envision, design and develop Web applications
and key UI modules and understand MYSQL, Arc Spatial Database
Engine, and Arc GIS Web Server.
-Ability to interface and understand Java API business logic
used to build Web Tier applications
-Ability to apply good software design and development practices
in daily activities.
-Ability to write comprehensive technical specifications
and support documentation.
-In-depth knowledge of one or more J2EE Application Servers.
-Excellent problem solving, design, development, and debugging
skills.
-Ability to work with a team in a constantly challenging
environment.
-Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
-GIS experience and knowledge of ESRI products.
