The Infrastructure Architect provides expertise in the
definition, adoption and adherence to enterprise architecture
strategies, processes and standards relating to infrastructure
(server, storage, and network) and its supporting technologies.
Provides expertise and guidance in the infrastructure domain
to enable efficiencies through the standardization and automation
of technology infrastructure components. Provides technology
assistance related to infrastructure and direction to other
teams, ensuring that all technology domains work effectively
together. Designs, implements, and manages the life-cycle
of the infrastructure architecture for large internal and
external initiatives.
Responsibilities:
-Demonstrated application of architecture strategies, standards,
processes, and tools in their solution designs
-Design and Implementation of infrastructure architectures
that meet their customers (internal / external) requirements
and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards
-Increased re-use in infrastructure designs
-Supports the development of strategy, frameworks, best
practices and patterns.
-Ensures compliance with all architecture directions and
standards through cross organization consulting and direct
involvement in development efforts focused on infrastructure
optimization.
-Acts as a thought leader and arbiter of decisions in their
specific areas of expertise.
-Works with constituents and the Enterprise Architecture
(EA) team to gain consensus and establish infrastructure
standards, policies and directions.
-Support the definition and selection of enterprise tools,
technologies and processes relating to technology infrastructure
-Review and approve infrastructure architectural standards
and processes changes
-Ensure representation from the all stakeholders in the
design of technology
infrastructure solutions
-Act as an expert in the design, development, implementation,
and management technology infrastructure
-Facilitator and moderator of future collaborative work
team content related to technology infrastructure architecture
including infrastructure virtualization, application pattern
work teams, domain specific content or governance content.
-Ensure that all technology infrastructure components have
a standardized approach to monitoring and management.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in related information technology field.
-Requires 7-10 years of overall IT experience.
-Minimum of 3-5 years implementing blade based solutions.
-Minimum of 3-5 years implementing complex solutions in
a highly virtualized environment.
-Minimum of 5-10 years implementing large scale, complex
infrastructure solutions.
-Minimum of 7 years designing complex, integrated solutions.
-In-depth knowledge of infrastructure components, virtualization
technologies, middleware and SOA.
-Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally
and written, effectively with all levels of the organization.
-Highly organized and has ability to manage concurrent deadlines
and multiple priorities.
