Financial Application Engineer

$110-$180K
Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 11:00pm to 8:00am
Responsibilities:
-Provide trading application support for designated
shift.
-Move new software releases from development
to UAT to production.
-Facilitate communication with trading and software
development teams.
-Provide user support and training with in-house
software throughout the day on desktop trading
applications.
-Author and maintain system documentation.
-Collect and report system errors and improvements
to appropriate teams.
-Ensure that all automated jobs and services
that fire during the shift are executed correctly
and at the appropriate time.
-Contribute to the engineering efforts to automate
processes, monitor systems and improve software
management.
Qualifications:
-4+ years working in a Microsoft Windows Server
and Desktop environment.
-2+ years working with UNIX (Red Hat Enterprise
Linux is a plus).
-2+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server;
database installations, upgrades and maintenance.
-Some knowledge or previous experience working
in the trading Industry.
-Must be able to demonstrate technical problem
solving skills.
-Must be well versed in a scripting language
on both the Microsoft and UNIX platforms.
-Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.
-Excellent documentation and knowledge management
skills.
