SR Network Engineer - Thornton, CO

Responsibilities:
-Responsible for direct customer communication, working closely with all other technical teams, and maintain deep technical knowledge of multiple technologies within a customer’s environment. This may include network, security, systems administration and storage management services.
-Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for customers.
-Provide direct operational support of largest managed services customers, maintaining ownership and end of the road support for complex environments
-Develop and install cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex customer requirements and SLAs.
-Provide clear technical documentation and written ISO9001 procedures to ensure other team members can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and changing complex customer environments.
-Build and maintain relationships with key customer’s technical staff members and with internal stakeholders from sales, customer service and field operations.
-Provide technical assistance to all internal/external customers during network outages.
-Have a familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.
-Assist in the development of reportable operational metrics within the team.
-Perform scheduled network maintenance activity, including evening and weekends, when required.
-Willing to work in a rotating after-hours On-Call environment
-Become proficient in the network architecture including layer 1-3 infrastructure and MPLS technologies.

Qualifications:
-Five to Ten years industry experience in a Network Operations Management or Network Engineering role.
-Two plus years experience with Check Point firewalls
-Two plus years experience with Cisco CSS Load Balancers
-Routing protocols and related technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, NAT.
-L2 switching and spanning tree technologies.
-Firewall, VPN and security technologies.
-DNS and load balancing technologies (SSL, Cookies).
-SNMP and monitoring platforms.
-Some hands-on Linux or Unix, Windows experience.
-Extensive knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required.
-Very strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required.
-Strong network problem isolation and resolutions skills required.
-Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.
-Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
-Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
-Strong time management and organizational skill are required.
-Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently or as a self starter.
-Must be willing to assist and direct junior technical staff

Additional preferred qualifications:
-4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
-CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CCIP, CCIE, JCIS, JCIE, or CISSP
-College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
