Role Responsibilities:

• Perform general database administration duties. This includes database cloning, upgrades, migrations, patching, storage management & performance tuning.
• Implements custom application code changes to production and test systems based on submitted Change Management Requests.
• Responsible for maintenance of database backups & recovery.
• Provides production support on assigned systems (7 X 24) Excellent trouble shooting skills (including proactive and reactive)
• Trouble shooting & proactive approach to identify and make recommendations to database performance issues
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle RDBMS with Linux & Unix (Windows) as OS
• Provide Custom ETL development or Commercial Off the Shelf products (Informatica) Support
• Research and recommend optimal database design criteria
• Publish standards and work effectively with Development, Application & Support Teams in designing schemas, tuning SQL and improving application logic.
• Create and maintain documentation for DBA tasks
• Create, develop, review and support the physical model and logical model
• Should be proficient in Scripting SQL, PL/SQL programs, Shell scripts and Perl programs
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
• Research new technology associated with database administration and make recommendations
• Standardize environment & Improve standards and procedures that support the company’s database environment needs.
• Support Production databases 7X24
• Optimized database environments
• Stable and secure database environment

Required Qualifications:
Formal Education or Equivalent:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

Specialized Skills, Knowledge, Certifications, etc.:
• Oracle 10g, RAC, Oracle grid control, Linux, SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, Perl
• 3-5 years experience as a DBA in Oracle environments and in-depth experience in administration, programming, performance tuning and support of RDBMS in one or more computing environments
• 2 years of experience as a DBA in MS-SQL server and/or Sybase environments
• 2-4 years experience in supporting Informatica Power Center
• Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
• Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments
• Must be good team player
• Able and willing to be flexible in adapting to new technologies, processes and standards
• Technically enthusiastic and willing to learn attitude is required
