Data Services Developer - Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:
-Join a proprietary trading firm to focus on C# / T-SQL Programming to assist in mining MS SQL Server data for maximum business impact.
-Working closely with traders/leadership to generate useful and actionable information displays.
-C#/T-SQL Programming to support ongoing database development and reporting.

Qualifications:
-Strong analytical and creative skills as well as in-depth knowledge of T-SQL programming are a must.
-Prior experience with proprietary trading firms is desired but not necessary.
-Excellent T-SQL programming skills. Minimum of 3 years of any ANSI/SQL92 compliant SQL programming experience is a must.
-Excellent C#/.NET 3.5 programming skills.
-Good understanding of B-tree algorithms, SQL Server 7.0/2005 query optimizer architecture as well as ability to analyze query execution plans.
-Extensive experience coding complex T-SQL stored procedures utilizing advanced programming techniques (UDFs, subqueries, derived tables etc). Successful candidate will spend at least 60% of work time developing structured T-SQL code with high-performance requirements.
-Hands-on experience with large distributed database systems.
-Exceptional understanding of the client-server concepts and related challenges.
-Familiarity with any widely-accepted ERD software.
-Experience in presentation of data to end users a plus.
-Heavy attention to detail; broad picture view as well.
-Must be eligible to work in the United States.
-Analytical, “tabular” mindset.
-Able to manage numerous business priorities with ease.
-Must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.
