Responsibilities:
-Work closely with all members on the team and learning
all IT related systems and configurations
-Act as a key individual on the team supporting Exchange
and Cisco LAN/WAN environment
-The ability to support and troubleshoot Storage area network
technology and network connections surrounding the SAN
-Act as a technical lead in the recovery of network and
operating systems services in the event of a disaster or
an emergency
-Where deemed necessary by the management function, work
extended hours and provide coverage for weekends and holidays
as needed
-Monitor performance statistics about network traffic and
usage so that networks are available to meet business needs
-Perform troubleshooting services to isolate, diagnose,
and fix problems dealing with shared services and connected
equipment
-Notify the Senior Management Group of all intrusions, violations,
or other suspected information security problems
-Monitor development trends in the IT arena and make suggestions
for the improvement of operating systems and network environments
pertaining to reliability
-Provide hands-on technical services to the Applications
team related to Infrastructure issues affecting their application
environment
-Evaluate information system bug reports, security exploit
reports, and other information security notices issued by
information system vendors, government agencies, professional
associations, and other organizations, and as needed, makes
recommendations to internal management and technical staff
to take precautionary steps
-Act as the primary technical support liaison in charge
of distributing and loading updates to anti-virus systems,
patches to systems, and logon scripts to employees.
-Provide Technical leadership and guidance to other IT support
teams
-Follow approved change control procedures to ensure the
appropriate changes are completed on a live environment
-Responsible for validating infrastructure test environments
and communicating the results to the management function
prior to live deployment
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful applicant will preferably have the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related technical field
or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years’ working experience as a Network
Engineer or Senior Technical lead
• Ability to demonstrate technical expertise on large
scale IT infrastructure projects
• Self-starter and ability to multi-task the workday
around assigned activities and prioritize with minimum supervision
• 3-5 years working knowledge of engineering, operating,
and troubleshooting Vmware and the application server hosts
that reside on the ESX farm.
• 3-4 years’ experience architecting, implementing
and troubleshooting Exchange v.2007/2010 and Citrix Xenapp
in a production corporate environment
• 3-4 years engineer experience with SAN technology
preferably Netapp
• Experience engineering corporate disaster recovery
plans and then executing the plan on a yearly basis
• Experience troubleshooting level 1 LAN/WAN switching
equipment
• IBM enterprise Servers and Blade technology
• Implementation of Windows Active Directory and components
that make up AD
• Avaya Telecommunications and VOIP troubleshooting
• Sun Solaris, Linux 1st level troubleshooting
• Microsoft SQL Server 1st level troubleshooting
• Scriptlogic or GPO policy’s would be an asset
• MCSA and MCSE certification preferred
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
