Candidates must have experience with embedded systems and
solid specification, design, development and testing skills,
honed through multiple development cycles from inception
to release. Ideal candidates will have medical devices industry
experience developing Java and C applications and working
with Linux kernels and applications. Will also consider
.Net Developers with experience applying IEC standards to
development.
Responsibilities:
-Supporting and enhancing the company’s existing embedded
applications.
-Designing new embedded applications and writing specs and
design documents.
-Implementing new embedded applications using Java, C, .Net
and scripting languages.
-Building and configuring Linux applications typically used
in embedded systems.
-Customizing and building Linux kernels and root file systems.
-Testing embedded applications.
Qualifications:
-5-10 years of embedded software development experience
using Java, C and/or .Net languages.
-Experience applying IEC standards to development.
-Understanding of networking, networking tools and network
security.
-In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel and the Linux kernel
configuration and build process a plus.
-Knowledge of embedded software tools, like Make, used for
building software.
-Good communication skills - able to draft high quality
specifications and documents
-Excellent module and integration test skills.
-B.S. degree in Software Engineering or equivalent technical
discipline is preferred.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of medical design control processes such as ISO13485
a plus.
-Knowledge of software standards such as IEC62304 a plus.
-Familiarity with TI Omap processors or other similar ARM
processors.
-Understanding of USB, Serial, Bluetooth, Ethernet and other
peripheral device drivers.
-Comfortable working with embedded hardware and tools such
as JTAG debuggers.
-Knowledge of software tools such as Eclipse and SVN.
