Application Support Engineer / Software Developer

Responsibilities:
-Responsible for monitoring and supporting mission
critical operational applications, processes,
and the technical infrastructure.
-Monitor events, follow procedures to resolve
recurring incidents, and propose modifications
to those procedures to improve the quality and
speed of incident resolution.
-When not actively monitoring systems, employ
scripts, SQL and workflow technology to build
automated improvements and workarounds for recurring
incidents.
-Support critical enterprise software via event
monitoring and incident handling
-Perform maintenance on critical production
servers
-Improve existing support materials and processes
-Build scripts, procedures and workflows to
improve or eliminate specific manual incident
handling
Qualifications:
-7+ years of experience in support or application
development, ideally in an enterprise environment
with a focus on mission-critical software support.
-Trading industry software experience
-Demonstrated track record of high technical
achievement.
-Quick, analytical thinker, and excellent problem
solver under pressure.
-Can communicate clearly and excellently with
a wide variety of people.
-Is extremely open-minded, comfortable giving
and receiving feedback, and will thrive in an
environment that demands regular, passionate
debate.
-Has extremely high standards
-Experience in a C#/.Net environment;
-Experience with SQL Server in a C#/.Net environment,
including shell/batch scripting
